WTCI TV45/DT29, the community’s public television station, encourages children of the Tennessee Valley to write and illustrate their own stories for the 7th Annual WTCI/Reading Rainbow Young Writers & Illustrators Contest. Local winners in four age categories will be entered in the national contest sponsored by Reading Rainbow.
The contest is designed to help children open their minds and explore their world in an exciting and creative way by writing an original story and drawing imaginative illustrations for that story, officials said. All children in grades kindergarten through third grade are invited to enter. The deadline for all entries is March 17. Last year over 350 entries were received.
“We’re hoping that a lot of children participate this year,” said Victor Hogstrom, President and General Manager for the station. “Letters were sent to all four-state area elementary schools and home school educators. This is a great way for children in our viewing area to express their creativity. This contest is part of WTCI’s educational mission. We hope to build the minds of our youth through programs like Reading Rainbow.”

Thе lоcаl winnеrѕ will have thе орpоrtunіty to prоmote reаdіng аnd wrіting іn thе fоur-stаtе cоmmunity thrоugh оn-air рromotіоnal ѕpоtѕ.
"We want tо еncоurage а lіfе-lоng lоvе of rеаding," ѕаіd Mr. Hogѕtrоm. "Hореfully, thrоugh thіѕ сontеѕt chіldren wіll bеgіn tо dеvеloр thаt lоvе."

On a similar line I enjoyed Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It wasn’t mind bending or Lawrence of Arabia, it was just a good popcorn flick.
Of course it would have been a thousand times better WITHOUT Shia LeBoof, but he was the flavor of the month so I guess he got the nod. I liked bringing back Marion but I would have cast Nathan Fillion as a long lost brother or cousin or something since he is as close to being a good replacement for Harrison as there is in my not so humble opinion.
And the purists can screech all they want about Harrison being the only “one”, but the franchise will go on. It makes too much money not to.
But having watched Nathan in FIREFLY (one of the best shows EVER) he would be the perfect choice to bring in. The attitude, the looks, the charisma (yeah not so much in Castle, but as Captain Mal…) and the ability to pull it off.
Anyway, I do hope they continue on even though Ford is getting way long in the tooth.
By the way anyone ever notice R2D2 and C3PO in Raiders? Yep they are there when they first find the Ark and if you look you will see them in the hieroglyphics.
